RoastMyStartup takes privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect minimal data and do not sell it to third parties.
Data We Collect
- Startup name, description, website URL, and other details you submit in the roast form
- Usage data (pages visited, time on site) via standard server logs
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and Google profile ID
- Published roasts you choose to share publicly
How We Use Your Data
- To generate AI feedback on your startup
- To display published roasts on the Hall of Flames (only if you choose to publish)
- To improve the quality of the service
- We do NOT sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for targeted advertising
Cookies & Analytics
We may use minimal cookies for session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand usage patterns.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API — to generate AI feedback (your startup description is sent to their API)
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication
- Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
- EazeMyAPI — database storage for published roasts
Each of these services has their own privacy policy.
Data Retention
Unpublished roasts are not stored permanently. Published roasts remain on the platform until you request deletion. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us.

You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of any non-essential data collection

Children's Privacy
RoastMyStartup is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
